Used for guidance and control of the Titan II, Titan III, Titan 34D and Titan IV-A ballistic missiles and heavy lift booster vehicles. This onboard computer accepted position data from the Inertial Measurement Unit and calculated the resulting guidance commands during the flight of the missile.
Contrast this relatively small unit with the Burroughs MOD I Guidance Computer, the earliest ballistic missile guidance computer which was so large it filled an entire room at a ground site.
